RESTORATION OF MY MK1 TRANSCONTINENTAL
As you can see below, my cab needed major attention. The complete floor and sills had to be reconstructed from sheetmetal as these panels are not available. I was lucky to find both the left and ther rear A-pillars and the plate above and below the windscreen, which are now welded in. Very often you will see the ventilation openings above the windscreen and the water drain holes on the roof being closed to prevent water coming into the cab. The roof drain is attached to rubber hoses which go inside the A-pillar and when they get clogged, as a result the A-pillar and the A-pillar extension are completely gone! The bodywork on the cab is now finshed and the next step is to prepare it for painting in 2007. Click on the thumbs to enlarge these pictures.
